be offered up for your listening pleasure. Expect more acoustic blues
influence, Rumi poems set to music…there will be something for everyone, even
if it’s tales of rye whiskey and wild women!
Tickets are only $5 when purchased ahead of time, and $7 at
the door. Very special guests will join Sharon! Cafe Paradiso is in located inside the Broadway
Building, 607 W. Broadway Avenue: 641-472-0856 or www.cafeparadiso.net. You can

There is a story about how the stars in the universe gaze
down upon us, shining witnesses to the dramas unfolding on Earth. If the stars
were gazing down on Fairfield these last five months, they would have witnessed
some peculiar goings-on: Broadway actors roaming about town in amazement;
downtown restaurants bustling at pre- and post- show time; more laughter,
standing ovations and applause; and many generations of Iowans dressing up and
taking pride in our gem of a theater—The Stephen Sondheim Center for the
Performing Arts. The stars above are in for a treat, as one season closes and
another begins at The Sondheim Center.

A new pair of pajamas may seem like a trivial thing to most
women. But for a woman arriving at a shelter with shattered self-esteem and
only the clothes on her back (not even those if she’s come straight from a
hospital), new PJs can be an important part of the healing process. Shelters
try, in many ways both small and large, to provide things that help a woman to
think she has value, and lots of it... that she is not the things she’s heard
from the batterer but someone worth caring for.
